I have a hard time with New Year’s resolutions. Not because I don’t believe in setting goals or committing to challenges, but resolutions tend to be so… complicated.
“I want to get healthy.”
Where would I even start with this? It’s enormous, unspecific and, honestly, doomed.
This year I’d like to invite you to try something new with me. Instead of making a resolution, let’s choose a Monthly Mantra.
What the heck does that mean?
A mantra is a word or phrase repeated frequently. For example, I have trouble being still and relaxing, so my mantra for January is:
By focusing on a new mantra each month my hope is that it inspires me to check in with myself regularly. It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget to make myself, and my mental health, a priority.
I’m designing a new lock screen for my phone with “Just Breathe” on it so I’m sure to see it throughout the day.
Won’t you join me? Share your mantra in the comments along with how you’re displaying it in your daily life.
