When my bones start creaking I know it’s time to review my wellness checklist:
Did I drink enough water today?
Have I eaten anything fresh?
What about any greens?
Am I living on processed crap?
Have I used my expensive gym membership?
No, no, no, yes and no. Fail. Green smoothie to the rescue!
Lemony Green Smoothie
Start by filling a blender to the top with greens (I used organic spinach and kale).
Add 1/2 cup of soy milk (or almond milk) and 1/2 cup water.
Blend until greens are chopped and smooth.
Add a sliced apple and 3-4 ice cubes. Blend.
Add a 6 oz container of key lime soy yogurt (I love this brand from Whole Foods). Blend.
Simple, tasty and rejuvenating.
Experiment with different yogurt flavors. So far I’ve tried cherry, apricot mango and strawberry and they’re all good. The sweetness masks the flavor of the greens.
I haven’t tested it yet, but I think frozen greens would work for this too.
Now I need to get this booty to the gym.
