My brain feels so full. When I do have “downtime” I’d rather sit on the couch and stare into my phone than figure out how to make my situation better.

It can feel overwhelming to figure out what to keep and what to let go of in your life. That’s why I wanted the first steps in Find Your Simple to be fun and easy.

First I asked you a series of questions. Then I had you analyze your answers to find the common thread. Getting specific about your priorities will be important as we move along to the next step – letting go of mental clutter.

It’s time to let go of things that are mentally holding you back, sucking all your energy and distracting you from what truly matters.

MAKE A MENTAL LIST

Why? When things are floating around in your head, they can seem a lot larger and more complicated than they actually are. By writing your thoughts down, you’ll feel more intentional and less overwhelmed by the process ahead.

  • I’m stressed about ___.
  • I’m feeling guilty about ___.

Don’t rush this step. Take a few days to write this list if you need to. In the next post, we’ll help you decide which things are worthy of your mental energy, and which ones aren’t.
